pattern making

Post by davenport on Fri Apr 02, 2010 5:24 pm

i hope i`m not being patronising here or trying to teach people stuff they already know... but...

you know the drill, when you`ve removed an interior part and fancy knocking up a plastic/ally (or if your a tart carbon) cover to fill the hole.. just how do you replicate the shape onto a piece of paper (especially if you want to mark fixing holes/curves)

this is what i did for mirror bse plates but the same technique can be used for door + 3/4 cards.. dash inserts...

take 1 random shape..

cover the area in a piece of clean white paper and take 1 dirty finger..

rub away and the dirt will form dark lines where it pases over a definate egde..

1 pattern ready to cut out and transfer onto the material of your choice....

simplez!
